Bay Shores Cleaning Company hosted a networking and collaboration event in September for cleaning industry professionals. Owner Wendy Nellet convened peers to discuss training, staffing, service standards and ways operators can support one another in the field.
The session grew out of the company’s internal development work. Staff members take enrichment classes that include the 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace, Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University and Disk Class. Nellet applied that same emphasis on learning to a gathering of outside professionals.

Nellet founded Harbor Shores Cleaning Company in 2013 in Petoskey and later established Bay Shores Cleaning Company to serve homes and businesses in Midland, Sanford, Freeland, Auburn and nearby communities. Harbor Shores remains the northern Michigan company. Bay Shores is the separate Midland operation under the same founder. Both companies list residential cleaning, residential deep cleaning, and commercial cleaning among their services. Harbor Shores also handles vacation rental turnovers in its market.
Company materials state that Bay Shores teams are highly trained and background-checked. The Midland site also states that the business is licensed and insured, offers eco-friendly product options upon request, and maintains a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. Discussion at the event stayed on professional practice. Topics included communication with clients and crews, safety on job sites and methods for developing employees. Nellet treated that program as an example of how cleaning businesses can assist households during illness, not as a promotional offer.
The September gathering did not announce new service lines or pricing. It created a setting for operators who often work independently to share what has worked in hiring, quality control, and scheduling. Follow-up among attendees was left informal. No membership structure or future calendar was released with the event.
Bay Shores Cleaning Company continues its regular residential and commercial work while using peer meetings as an occasional professional resource. The September event placed the founder’s two-market experience, from Harbor Shores in northern Michigan to the Midland company, in front of other cleaning professionals who face similar operating questions.
Nellet described the meeting as an extension of the company’s stated mission to enrich lives inside the team and in the communities it serves.
