The Denver vocalist’s first solo single arrives with a Jay.Greens-produced video, previewing
a debut album two years in the making.
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — With “Move It Back” (released August 14 through Perception Records), Halle steps into the center of the frame. The single marks the beginning of a string of releases through December 2026 and the first glimpse into a body of work that has been developing largely behind the scenes for more than two years. It introduces Halle not simply as a vocalist, musician or collaborator, but as an artist with a fully-formed perspective and one poised to make an impact far beyond her Denver roots.
Halle became a staple of the Denver music scene and a recurring presence across Perception Records releases, collaborating with artists across genres while steadily developing a sound of her own. Most notably, she was featured on Gordo Flea’s breakout New York anthem “OMW” from April 2026, which surpassed one million Spotify streams within its first three months.
Halle Tomlinson is a vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose sound blends sultry Neo-soul and R&B vocals with hard hitting, hip hop inspired production and sophisticated jazz harmony. Equally at home delivering an intimate vocal performance or building dense layers of harmony and instrumentation, Halle’s music bridges the warmth and musicianship of classic soul with a clean and modern production aesthetic. She first gained national attention on NBC’s The Voice.
“Move It Back” brings that vision to life through a deeply collaborative recording built around live musicianship. Halle performs lead vocals and bass guitar, with Jay.Greens on guitar and production, Alvin Ford Jr. on drums and Ian Gilley on keyboards. The song was written by Halle Tomlinson, Ian Gilley, Geoff Bremer and Jay.Greens. Together, the players create a track that reflects the broader musical language of the project, pairing hard-hitting rhythm and detailed live performance with a modern production approach.
Paired with the single release is an equally-captivating music video shot by Chris “The Camera Guy” Shaibi and produced by the Perception Records team. Set within a clean, tiled room, we get an intimate, organic introduction to Halle, and the warm vs. cool lighting acts as a nod to the inner conflict that persists as an underlying theme. The video is a striking, provocative preface to an emotionally-revealing album ahead.
“Move It Back” is available now on all major streaming platforms at https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/halletomlinson/move-it-back. The official music video is streaming on Halle Tomlinson’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_eAj23hN1Q.
As Halle steps into this next era, she begins to peel back the curtain on her debut full length album, Archive, which is the culmination of more than two years of work alongside Los Angeles-based producer Jay.Greens. The record brings together an ensemble of accomplished session musicians, producers and collaborators to create a singular sonic world.
The album was produced primarily at Perception Sound, Perception Records’ commercial recording studio in Downtown Los Angeles, with additional recording at Sunset Sound in Hollywood and Laskin Productions in Denver.
Rather than choosing between the organic and the modern, Archive accentuates the best parts of both. Drums, strings, guitars, keys and layered vocals are recorded with the depth and intentionality of classic records, then chopped, sampled and reshaped into something distinctly current. The result is a “future-soul” sound that hits with the weight of modern hip-hop while preserving the musicianship, harmony and emotional intimacy that is integral to Halle’s music.
With her full-length debut album Archive, Halle Tomlinson is no longer simply lending her voice to someone else’s world. She is building one of her own.
